North East Action Plan

The North East Action Plan was developed to link in the priorities set by the Steering Group and sets out future activity and projects.

North East Priorities

1. Generate added value for businesses within the forestry and wood-using sector in NE Scotland by promoting collaboration and innovation.

2. Promote/educate/engage with public (mainly Turriff show)

3. Specific sectoral development priorities

a) Woodfuel
b) Promote increased use of local timber in construction
c) Timber Transport
d) Promote increased afforestation
e) Workforce development

North East Actions 2010 - 2012

  • Support development & delivery of timber haulier support programme (North East Priority 3c)
  • Support development & delivery of timber utilisation workshops/events (North East Priority 3b)
  • Support delivery of forest industry showcase events (North East Priority 2)
  • Support development of apprenticeship/new entrant & work experience placement project (North East Priority 3e)
  • Support development & delivery of biomass utilisation workshops/events (North East Priority 3a)
  • Support delivery of Forestry Skills Development Programme (North East Priority 3e)
