Following the recent announcement, the following have been appointed as members of the Advisory Board (initially for 2 - 4 years). A chair will be selected at the first meeting, after which time Stefan Kay OBE will step down as Interim Chair.

Cluster activities are carried out under the overall guidance of the Advisory Board comprising key individuals from across Scotland's forest industries, with the original vision and commitment to take forward the strategy outlined in Roots for Growth. The previous Leadership Group met for the first time in October 2000 under the Chairmanship of Mr Sandy Brownlie CBE, Chairman of BSW Timber plc. Mr Stefan Kay OBE took over as Chairman in January 2002 and served until the group's dissolution in February 2008.
Cluster Team The work of the Advisory Board is supported by the Scottish Enterprise Executive Team, who are drawn from across the Scottish Enterprise network, and from Highlands & Islands Enterprise, working in partnership with the Confederation of Forest Industries ltd (ConFor). These include:
Margaret Watson - Head of Forest Industries, Scottish Enterprise Margaret Watson is currently Head of Forest Industries at Scottish Enterprise (SE). Margaret joined SE in 2005 as a member of Dumfries & Galloway's Sector Development Team, with responsibility for the Forestry Sector and the Scottish Forest Industries Regional Clusters. She trained as a Chartered Surveyor at Cirencester and having worked throughout England in that field, she spent 16 years as Estate Manager at Forrest Estate, Dalry, Ayrshire before joining SE. The daughter of a forester, Margaret has a life-long affinity with the industry. Her work at the highly acclaimed Forrest Estate involved the development of renewable energy schemes involving both hydro and wind power.
