Showcasing the forest industries and in particular, the current and potential future use of Scottish timber - from tree to paper - specifically highlighting the use of timber as a building material. The exhibition comprises 3 sections: where trees grow & mature; production where raw timber is turned into products & building materials; case studies & full size samples from recent Scottish buildings.

This initiative is in partnership Scottish Enterprise, BRE, Energy Systems Research Unit (ESRU) University of Strathclyde and Edinburgh Napier University.

Advanced Renewable Energy Training

TRADA Technology Ltd has been collaborating with BRE, Bangor University and Centre for Timber Engineering Edinburgh Napier University undertaking research on behalf of the Forestry Commission into the use of home-grown (HG) timber. A very important part of this project is input from the timber supply and demand chain into this issue.

The workshop will provide a presentation on the aims and objectives of the expert service, followed by a presentation about Technical Considerations and Opportunities in Microgeneration. Workshop sessions will then be delivered on Opportunities in Demand Side Energy Management, Technical Consideration of Low Carbon Construction and Finance Options available for innovative projects, so that potential companies understand what is required from them to access the Expert Support Service.

These half-day awareness seminars, delivered by independent experts with first-hand knowledge of FITS and RHI, will equip you with a clear understanding of the benefits of the schemes and address the options that should be considered before participating.

This is a joint event, hosted by the Scottish Women’s Convention and the Scottish Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology. Its aim is to address the issues faced by women in employment. Invited speakers will contribute to the debate around women in the economy and the barriers they face. A light lunch will be provided and a contribution towards childcare may be available.
