The Scottish Forest and Timber Technologies initiative encompasses all the individuals, companies and organisations involved in the Forest & Timber industries from forest planning and planting to the development of value-added end products. Anyone involved in or interested in the sector can participate in its activities.
More specifically, the Scottish Forest and Timber Technologies initiative comprises: -
The Scottish Forest & Timber Technologies Industry Leadership Group; leading business figures and key stakeholders who advise Scottish Enterprise, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Government on matters relating to sustainable economic development and opportunities provided by the forest and timber industries in Scotland.
Delivery Colleagues; key representatives from the public and private sectors who work collaboratively to develop and manage projects that deliver against the strategy and meet the aim of growing the sector.
Four Regional Groups (Highlands and Islands, North East Scotland, Mid Scotland and South Scotland); managed by facilitators who, together with input from Regional Steering Groups, develop and deliver a programme of regional projects, activities and events. Prior to January 2011, Scottish Forest & Timber Technologies was known as the Scottish Forest Industries Cluster.
